Vestibular rehabilitation is a specialized form of physiotherapy that is a drug-free, exercise-based approach to treating dizziness and balance disorders. Treatment involves specific exercises to decrease dizziness, increase balance and increase general activity levels. If you suffer from dizziness, vertigo (a spinning sensation), unsteadiness, balance problems, difficulty reading/concentrating, fear of falling or headaches, vestibular rehabilitation may be of benefit to you.
All of our vestibular therapists have been certified by the University of Emory in Atlanta, Georgia. Your vestibular therapist will perform an in-depth evaluation to determine the best treatment for your symptoms. Using the latest in assessment technology, our therapists use infrared goggles to assess eye movement to determine the most effective treatment plan.
Some of the common types of vestibular problems we treat are benign positional vertigo (BPV), unilateral (UVL) or bilateral (BVL) vestibular loss, labrynthitis or neuritis, post-concussion or post motor vehicle accident dizziness and imbalance, as well as gait and balance issues.
